Cancers that are purely squamous cell type is very rare Adenosquamous carcinoma is a type of cancer that contains two types of cells: squamous cells (thin, flat cells that line certain organs) and gland-like cells. It has been associated with more aggressive characteristics when compared to adenocarcinoma in certain cancers. With the use of multivariable hazard regression analyses, adenosquamous carcinoma histology was independently associated with increased overall mortality (hazard ratio, 1.67) and colorectal-specific mortality (hazard ratio, 1.69) in comparison with adenocarcinoma. Invasive cervical adenosquamous carcinoma is a relatively uncommon histologic subtype of cervical malignant neoplasms classified by the World Health Organization Classification of Tumors of Female Squamous and adenosquamous cell carcinomas (ASC and SCC) are rare subtypes of gallbladder cancer, traditionally considered more aggressive and with a poorer prognosis than adenocarcinoma. We report about two patients affected by an advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the gallbladder.

1 The prognosis of adenosquamous carcinoma is generally worse than that of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of the lung; however, new therapeutic options have been found for adenocarcinoma of the lung that could potentially impact adenosquamous lung carcinoma. 2, 3 Adenosquamous Carcinoma of Colon and Rectum is a rare histological subtype of colorectal adenocarcinoma having malignant squamous cells and malignant glandular cells. It is thus described as ‘adenosquamous carcinoma’ (or ASC). Adenosquamous carcinoma of the penis is a rare, biphasic malignant tumor with SCC and adenocarcinoma components. Reports indicate that the squamous component is either the warty or usual type of SCC, or the adenocarcinomatous component is mucin secreting. 464 To make a diagnosis of adenosquamous carcinoma, we recommend that the adenocarcinoma component should be truly glandular with either Adenosquamous cancer, more often called adenosquamous carcinoma, is a variety of cancer that contains both squamous cells and gland-like cells. Squamous cells are flat, thin cells that line certain organs, so this cancer can appear in a variety of places.

Adenosquamous cancer

Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) About 10% to 15% of all lung cancers are SCLC and it is sometimes called oat cell cancer. This type of lung cancer tends to grow and spread faster than NSCLC. However, colon cancer has only rarely been associated with hypercalcemia of malignancy. We present the case of a patient with recurrent adenosquamous carcinoma of the ascending colon found to have hypercalcemia.

Methods: This is a retrospective study querying the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results 2015-07-01 Adenosquamous carcinoma (ASC) is a “composite” tumor, exhibiting simultaneous squamous and glandular differentiation in the same mass (Fig. 16-36). It accounts for no more than 5% of all lung cancers in most surgical series.

With the use of multivariable hazard regression analyses, adenosquamous carcinoma histology was independently associated with increased overall mortality (hazard ratio, 1.67) and colorectal-specific mortality (hazard ratio, 1.69) in comparison with adenocarcinoma.

A majority of the tumors are low-grade By WHO classification, adenosquamous carcinoma contains at least 10% each of malignant squamous and glandular components Differentiate from adenocarcinoma with squamoid features / squamous metaplasia as well as squamous cell carcinoma with pseudoglandular features The definition of adenosquamous carcinoma indicates a carcinoma showing components of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, with each comprising at least 10% of the tumor.
